A few events have come to our attention which may be of interest to Warriors Supporters. The soonest of these will be the first rugby match to be played at Sixways since the demise of the Women's team in October last year:
The Fire Service will be coming off the back of a great result against the Army; a fixture which they won 28-47 at Tidworth on 18th January. The England Police RUFC were also the victors in their last match, 29-36 against their Scottish counterparts, in November last year. It's free entry to see a decent level of rugby and support those still working to put events on at Sixways.
The next plug is for a more social than sporting occasion, but one that does promise to showcase James Haskell's talents outside of the rugby arena. To be fair, his career as a DJ threatens to surpass that in Rugby Union, with regular slots in the clubs of London, Ibiza and Tokyo and a large following on the British festival circuit. This time around he will be headlining the bill at a St Patrick's weekend party in the Fanzone at Sixways:
This is a ticketed event, currently priced at £14pp. There are 2500 tickets available in totol but they become more expensive as the date approaches:
We have also been asked to promote a Touch Rugby Tournament to be held at Pershore Rugby Club on 1st June. The tournament, which is for mixed-sex teams of 12, is looking to raise money for the Worcester Warriors Foundation. Andrew Breaker and Clare Kinahan at Pershore RFC are asking for team entries and also corporate sponsors. Please do what you can to support this admirable venture. Their contact emails are on the flyer below:
Finally, we are pleased to announce that WWST are currently finalising details of an away day at The Butts Park Arena to watch Coventry RFC take on Bedford Blues in the Championship. Hopefully we will be able to catch up with Worcester old boys Matt Kvesic and Will Chudley. The two teams, currently sitting in 3rd & 4th in the table, should produce a close-fought contest. Details of tickets will follow in the next week or so but the date for your diary is Saturday April 20th.
