"Together we can do so much"

NEW DONATIONS PAGE
I find quotations very interesting. Often they are bandied about without much attention to what the phrase really means. The full quote from today's title is "Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much" and is a reminder that we can achieve more significant goals when we act together than when we toil alone. The quotee is Helen Keller who, as an author, political activist and disability rights campaigner seemingly did her best to prove her first phrase wrong. However the second part of her quote cannot be argued with - when we act together our achievements are undoubtedly greater. It is no coincidence that a dying Worcester Warriors used the #TOGETHER campaign to express the solidarity amongst staff, players and supporters. Neither is the use of #WeBuildTogether by the reborn club which has done so much to reinvigorate our rugby community.
If Warriors are to return to and surpass the heights that they have previously reached they will undoubtedly need to ensure that young local rugby talent is not mopped up by other clubs. Already Gloucester Rugby's RFU-backed Academy is benefiting from taking players who would have previously been under the Worcester (and Wasps) Academies. The new Coventry Academy has also been spreading its net to tempt players away from our traditional catchment area. Imagine if the likes of Chris Pennell, Fin Smith, Ollie Lawrence, Ted Hill, Alex Grove and Matt Kvesic (to name but a few) had slipped through our fingers under similar circumstance.
With this in mind, Worcester Warriors Supporters Trust will now be concentrating our fundraising activities on raising money specifically to aid the development of young players at Sixways and any future Worcester Warriors Academy. Inevitably we are asking you as the Worcester Warriors rugby community to help us. Any donation, small or large will be used to help our young players. Please visit our new "Donations Page" and give what you can.
SIXWAYS SOS UPDATE
Enormous thanks to the many people who have responded to our "call to arms" and volunteered to help get the stadium ship-shape for the pre-season game against Bath. We have had well over a hundred people put themselves forward for seat cleaning, litter-picking, weeding and painting on the two days allocated (Thursday 11th September & Monday 15th September). If you haven't yet contacted us and would like to join the party please let us know at trust@wwst.co.uk - it's never too late!
WWST CABIN
WWST will have found a permanent new home come the start of the season. We have a compact but bijoux cabin, currently in production, which will be sited in the North East corner of the ground - near the club shop and on the edge of the fanzone. We hope to be installed before the Bath game but, failing that, definitely for the first league game against Coventry RFC. Initially this will be an information point for all supporters - home and away - but we will soon be able to sell tickets for away transport, WWST merchandise, new subscriptions and the like. More news will follow no doubt. Please come and say hello if you're passing on match-day.
