WWST are delighted to announce the appointment of David Bradley as our inaugural Honorary President. We anticipate that the role will primarily be ambassadorial, supporting the trust in promoting its aims and objectives and helping to grow our membership.
Bradders has been a flag-bearer for sport in Worcester for more years than he would care to remember and is perhaps best known for his work at BBC Radio Hereford & Worcester as a sports journalist, presenter and commentator. Warriors supporters will know him as the voice behind the mike at Sixways; always the highlight of the pre-match entertainment. He has also become a fixture at New Road as both a cricket commentator and match-day host.
One of Dave's more significant commitments is his position as President at the Cricket Club in Martley, the village of his birth. He has had a continuous association with the MCC for over 60 years, having played his first match at the age of 13 and held, at one time or another, pretty well every club role including player, captain, secretary, chairman and now, of course, president.
In November of last year Dave was invited to King Charles III's 75th birthday celebrations at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire, having been nominated as someone who has made a significant contribution to his local community. All the invitees shared their birth year with the monarch.
We are so pleased that Bradders has agreed to take on this new role. We know he will bring energy and enthusiasm in spades and are confident that he will make a substantial impact to help us achieve our goal of resurrecting Worcester Warriors.
